After successfully undergoing surgery to remove a bullet in his back, Dwayne Johnson is thanking God to be alive.
He was shot on September 5, when he was involved in an altercation while on a ZR van travelling along Collymore Rock, St Michael. And while he is still in pain, Johnson is especially grateful that he is able to walk.
Speaking to Barbados TODAY at this Ivy, St Michael home, the 34-year-old acknowledged that his condition could have been worse.

“Right now I could have been in the morgue being prepared to head down to some funeral home or something like that. I am very much thankful to be alive because at one particular time I thought I was over on the other side and that was truth, but after a while I came back to myself,” he said, adding that he was praying and hoping to get back on his feet as soon as possible.
Recalling the day he took a bullet to the back, Johnson, who spent seven days in hospital, said he was heading to Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church when the incident took place.
“I did something that I shouldn’t have done in the van first of all that caused the whole scene, that caused the whole problem. It was actually between me and a female who once used to live with me,” he explained.
However, he declined to go into any further detail.
Police are continuing their investigations into Johnson’s shooting.
