Along with having to defend his title next year, Boucher will be representing Barbados in the regional leg of the cook-off.

“I am happy that I have won the first of this competition; it shows that I have skills. At first I thought it was going to be a little tough; but it was okay,” Boucher told Barbados TODAY shortly after his win.

The four other competitors included Troy Gibson who prepared breadfruit cou cou and pork stew; Simon Bourne who offered vegetables and chicken breast; and Peter Christie, a breadfruit pie and salt fish dish.
